Here are Central Alarm, security has always been our number one priority. However, in addition to protecting your home, business, and possessions, we also like to mention the various ways in which you can keep yourself safe, as you are the most important thing you need to protect.
Today, we will focus on the different ways you can protect yourself if you are an avid runner. And because the weather is warming up, runners will skip the laps in the gym and begin to hit the streets as well as the trails.
So, if you are a runner or have just gotten into exercise, here are some important safety tips to keep in mind…
Tip 1: If you choose to run at night, it is important that you wear bright, reflective clothing. While most running shoes have reflective strips on them, it is important that others on the road and others out and about can see you from a distance. If possible, it is a good decision to invest in a reflective vest that you wear while running at night. Otherwise, stick to buying work out clothing that is very bright in color, or has reflective fabric somewhere visible on the piece of clothing.
Tip 2: If you plan to leave your house to go out on a run by yourself, be sure to always let someone know when you leave, the route you will be taking, as well as when you expect to be home. This is important to do no matter what time of the day or night you are running. If there was ever an emergency and you did not make it home at a reasonable time or contact someone when you said you would, they will be able to have a good idea of where you are and check in on you.
